Food week is over on my blog, but I give you these last two drinks to try over the weekend, manly drinks that they are. Next week it will all be about the spooky and the mysterious. I get off on that stuff.

Pineapple Upside-Down Cake Cocktail

1 1/2 ounces pineapple juice
1/2 ounce vanilla vodka
1/2 ounce Baileys Irish Cream
1/2 ounce butterscotch schnapps
Brown sugar for rim
Grenadine syrup
Maraschino cherries and pineapple chunks for garnish

Pour pineapple juice and liquors into a shaker with ice. Shake.

Wet lip of martini glass and dip in brown sugar. Strain drink into glass. Drizzle with grenadine syrup; garnish with cherries and pineapple.

Apple pie ala mode cocktail

2 oz. Apple juice
2 tbsp Apple pie filling
1 oz. Coconut cream
“ Heavy cream
¾ oz. Spiced rum
1/2 oz. Apple schnapps
1 sprinkle of Cinnamon

Blend with 16 oz. ice until smooth and creamy and pour in specialty glass.

Garnish with apple wedge.

  1. Those look yummy. The drinks sound ok too.

  2. As a struggling (and extremely lazy) college student... the OC version of apple pie is a shot of goldschlager, chased with apple juice.

  3. In my early teens I dated guys in Simi, used to blow guys in the OC.; )

  4. We have so much in common, my dear.

  5. Hi Frank:

Just found your comment for the Book Club. :) I'll check with the other gals. A reader are you...where do you find the time?

  6. hey you!!! these drinks look mighty interesting, but i went with sangria this week. YUM.

and i look forward to the weird and mysterious week!

and regarding your comment, i am losing my mind trying to keep up with followers and commenters. ack! i don't know how maegan does it!

hope all is fab, and i'll be sure to bring don johnson over on a platter. he's all yours.

  7. Russ loves Sangria, but we can't find a place that serves it without driving to bumfuck. We went to the 18th floor of the Burbank Holiday Inn in the middle of the day and got plastered watching the view. Everytime we go Russ and I are always the only ones there.

Don Johnson is a leftover platter from last Thanksgiving.

  8. WR,

It's not easy taking time to be both a drunk and an avid reader of pop-up books when I'm not making obscene origami, but I'm a multi-tasker like that.

I eat your comments with jam and butter.
