urban legend

The vanishing hitchhiker is suppose to be an urban legend, but it happened in 1979.

Roy Fulton, a carpet fitter from Leighton Buzzard, Bedfirdshire, England picked up a young hitchhiker from a village called Stanbridge, after driving 2 or 3 miles at a steady 45 mph, he turned to offer his passanger a cigarette, the seat was empty. Fulton's story was believed by the Dunstable police.
